Her Books

Abby is working on her first novel for young readers. It is loosely based on characters from the Hans Christian Anderson story called The Traveling Companion. Right now the book has the working title of The Magician's Princess. 

Walking home from school one day, Bernadette discovers that her library book is the doorway to a secret world on the brink of destruction, her best friend Eliza is actually part rabbit, and her ordinary world isn't so ordinary after all. When Eliza disappears Bernadette has to convince an unwilling guide to take her into the book, an old fairy tale controlled by the villainous magician Jerrick and his sidekick, the evil Princess Thyra. There she finds the story crumbling around her and realizes it's not just Eliza who needs saving. Bernadette must figure out how to revive the fading fairytale characters and build her rag-tag army to defeat the magician and his princess to save their story.
